We had Wyatt's 4 month checkup earlier this week and here are the stats:
Weight: 13 lbs and 1 ounce (25th percentile)
Length: 24 inches (25th percentile)
Head: 42 cm (50th percentile)
I was not surprised by his oversized cranium. I always do have to tug a bit to get things over his massive head when getting him dressed. It is b/c he has a big genius brain, I am sure :) He is consistent in his percentiles and the Doc is very pleased with his development and growth. He has hit all the 4 month milestones and many of the 5 and 6 month (rolling over both ways, being able to grab items and shove them in his mouth, already having many consanance sounds in his vocab, belly laughs, etc).
With the massive amount of formula he is demanding and his stableness when being held in a sitting position, the doc said he was good-to-go with starting cereal and other solid foods. I didn't tell the doc that we had actually already tried him on it a few weeks early and even though he did good, we stopped after a few days and decided to wait until after our pedi gave us the green light.
He even showed Dr. Worsley his new trick of rolling over. Which now is all he ever wants to do, especially when you are getting him dressed or changing his diaper. We are certain he will be crawling by 6 months as you should see him to the worm-squirm already to get to toys he wants. He also made sure to flirt with the nurses and show off his dimples at our appointment. I swear the child smiles and laughs all the time, I just can't get it on camera!! Although he didn't smile much after the nurse gave him 4 shots - OUCH!
Here are some pics from our 4 month "photo session"....all he really wanted to do was eat Mr. Giraffe and squirm on his tummy.
